GVMS Cheerleader of the Week!Meet Emma—a 6th grade GVMS cheerleader with a lot of talent, no fear, and amazing drive to be the best. When Emma tried out for cheer this season, she was the quiet girl with no facial expressions but the girl who brought her physical A-game. Now…Emma is dancing with sass and beautiful facials. Her tumbling skills are amazing…landing round off back tucks on count each and every time. One random evening I asked Emma if she would attempt to be a flyer in one of my stunt groups…the next day she was in the air going up with a solid prep/half. Coach Maria and I couldn’t be more proud of Emma for stepping outside her comfort zone and trying something new, and extremely difficult. But cheer is not all Emma does! She is a competitive dancer with her favorite styles being that of lyrical and contemporary. After her hard practices, I’m sure she is begging her family to take her out for some well-deserved Chik Fil’ A, as that is something her tastebuds crave. Emma is a great student and really enjoys math, creative writing, and art! When she is not studying at home or doing dreadful homework, I’m sure Emma is playing with her 12-week old puppy Chloe.INTERESTING FACT: We have no idea where Emma came from as she is the only blonde-haired, blue-eyed person in her family!Keep up the amazing work Emma—you are an awesome cheerleader. Coach Maria and I can’t wait to see more of the talent you bring to the mat!
The GVMS Cheerleaders did an amazing job last night supporting our boys as they took home a 36-6 victory in the first game of the season. Chloe and Olivia went up in full extensions with their legs tight and their smiles beaming! Emma went up in a solid prep and looked out at the crowd with crazy confidence. The one-handed cartwheel girls (Liv, Peyton, Sam, and Hannah) were on point and in sync with clean finishes. Kayleigh nailed her toe touch with ease, height, and wicked straight legs.
New Chants. New Cheers. And New Stunts Coming Soon!
GVMS Cheerleader of the Week!
Meet Sam- an 8th grade GVMS cheerleader with an amazing work ethic on and off the mat! Sam is so versatile and is able to adapt to any position we ask of her. She comes to practice every day knowing exactly what is expected of her and she isn't afraid to ask questions if she is unsure of anything. Sam also has amazing facials and sass while cheering and dancing, making it so fun to watch her on the sidelines.
Outside of cheer, Sam also plays soccer in the U16 Rec Team for VSA and she is a rock star golfer! She plays Jr. PGA every Saturday. Sam is also in the Junior Honor Society and is a straight A student!
SOME FAVORITES: Sam's favorite color is light blue and her favorite food is chicken and cookie dough ice cream.
INTERESTING FACT: Sam wants to be an aerospace engineer when she grows up.
Keep up the great work Sam! Coach Tiffany and I love having you on the sidelines and can't wait to watch you grow even more this season!
