Ganiesville @ Metz:

On a beautiful spring afternoon, the GVMS Track team visited Metz MS and came up with a big 72-37 win. The coaches mixed up the lineup and some of our boys ran events they had never done before. The formula worked well and we saw another great effort from everyone and some standout performances.
Anthony Taylor placed second in the high jump and won the 100 meters. He burned up the 400 meters with an under 1-minute performance.
We swept the 400 meters with strong runs by Isaiah Nolen and Gavin Daniels. Julian Flores set a personal record by winning the 800 meters. He was followed closely by Jaxon Harris and Jordan Guevara.
Parker Kim went outside his distance comfort zone and won the 200 meters, followed by Ryan Schiro in second place.
John Georgantis missed first place in the mile by 1 hundredth of a second,  Aiden Murray had a great run and took 3rd place and Wallace Joyner and Ethan Wilcoxen ran well right behind them.

Alex Baker had a strong showing, taking 2nd in the long jump and the 55-meter hurdles.

We are very proud of these young men. Next week we will be away against Unity-Braxton.

Bull Run @ Gainesville:

On a beautiful Tuesday afternoon, the Boys Track Team took on Bull Run MS. We saw some great effort and a lot of potential on the track. The score ended in a tie (55-55) after a computer error was corrected but the coaches felt like we won a big victory and are very proud of all of our boys.
For many of the young men, this was their first track meet and we had them running and jumping in events they may have not tried before.  Our theme for the season is Focus and the team saw that the better the focus the more success they can expect.
The entire team did a great job. Our 'A' Relay Teams all won. Standout performances and personal records were achieved by Anthony Taylor, Sylar Pena, Gavin Daniels, John Georgantis, Jordan Guevara, Eddie Harrison, Tyler Smith, Elijah Square, Ryan Schiro, and Isaiah Nolan.
Special thanks to Ms. Drago and Hadley Ridgway for all of their help at the meet.
Next Tuesday we are away at Metz MS.
