Game Summaries below

 Hawks beat the Dogs

After a tough defeat at Reagan on Monday, the girls put it behind them and came out with a big victory over a tough Marsteller team to close the season on a high note.   All players contributed, no individual accolades today.  The girls finish the season with 9 wins, 1 loss, and most importantly-  incredible growth as players (and young ladies).  This great group of girls has immense potential and will take it with them to next year's season!
If you see any of these baby ballers, give them a giant congrats on a great season!

 Hawks grounded verse Reagan

Unfortunately, recap up #9 is quite different than #'s 1-8 as the Baby Hawks took their first loss of the season vs. a very worthy Reagan team.   The Hawks stumbled out of the gate and fought HARD all game, but just couldn't get things to fall our way.  The basket seemed tiny as shots just wouldn't fall, despite the girls making fantastic adjustments during the game. They fought hard until the end. Bella Cuffee had 9 points, Riley Backmon added 6.   The Hawks are determined to close out their season with a victory tomorrow at Marsteller, so come on out and see them soar again!

Hawks over Eagles

The Baby Hawks win the Battle of the Birds Part Deux.  Leading the way were the dynamic duo of Riley Backmon and Bella Cuffee each scoring 10 points and leading the team in rebounds.   Addie Hiltner had her best game of the season with 5 points.   Also scoring were Robyn Francis and Lucy Harlow.
The Hawks are now undefeated at 8-0 and take on their two toughest (and final) opponents next week for a championship run.  First up is at Reagan, Monday.
GO HAWKS!

Hawks over Jaguars

Congrats to the JV Hawks on their victory last night over Unity Braxton.  All players played many minutes and all contributed to the victory. Scoring for the Hawks were: Addie Hiltner, Rowyn Hauter, Riley Backmon, Lucy Harlow, Bella Cuffee, Marlee Ratcliff and Addison Stevulak.   The Hawks have their toughest stretch of the season coming up, as we head on the road for our final 3 games against 3 quality opponents starting Wednesday at Bull Run.  Come on out and support them!

Hawks over the tigers

The Baby Hawks soared over the host Tigers of Nokesville on Monday night.  Leading the way on the scoreboard, in very impressive fashion was Bella Cuffee.   Bella poured in 18......yes,18 points.  Riley Backmon played her  always steady game, scoring 8 points (including 4 for 4 in free throws, huge!)  to go along with her strong 8 rebounds.  Also scoring was Addison Hiltner, Rowyn Hauter, Robyn Francis, and Lucy Harlow.  The Hawks host Unity Braxton in a JV only night here at the Nest tomorrow (Weds.)  Come on out and watch these high flyers!

Hawks over Metz

Congrats to the Baby Hawks on their 5th victory in as many games - this time over the visiting Metz Mustangs.  Leading the charge was Riley Backmon with team and season high for us - 13 points.  Rockin' Rowyn Hauter was red-hot knocking down 3 mid-range jumpers - tallying 6 points.  Also scoring were Marlee Ratcliff, Addison Stevulak, Makayla McDonald, Brynn Warriner, Lucy Harlow, and Bella Cuffee.  All players played many minutes, and all were productive and helpful to the victory.   We finally head on the road on Monday as we travel over to Nokesville.  See you there!

Hawks keep on Flying

The JV Hawks continued their winning ways with an impressive victory over another (previously) undefeated team.   The Hawks used a strong 2nd quarter to take a nice lead into the half.  As expected, the visiting Marsteller Bulldogs battled back with a full court press and cut the lead down to just a few points.   That's when a few timely baskets by Addie Hiltner and Riley Backmon sealed the deal.    Bella Cuffee again stuffed the stats with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals.    Also scoring were Audrey Messick and Rockin' Robyn Francis.   There's no rest for the wicked, as the Baby Hawks look to fly high again tonight here at the Hawk's next vs. Metz.  Come on out and support the squad!

Hawks over Mustangs

A hearty “Congratulations!” goes out to the Baby Hawks on their nail biting, stressful victory over Reagan!  Good thing I had already lost my hair years ago.
I’m not sure if I should call it the Riley-Bella show, or the Bella-Riley show,  as both young ladies deserve top billing!
(Riley Backmon, Bella Cuffee)
How about this-
Both Riley Backmon and Bella Cuffee scored 8 points.
Both grabbed an incredible 10 rebounds.
Both  had 4 steals.
And as an indication of how hard they went, Both girls were completely exhausted after the game!
Robyn Francis and Audrey Messick also contributed to the scoring.
Rowyn Hauter, Addie Hiltner and Marlee Ratcliff were steady and helpful throughout.
Mostly because of my excitement for the girls, but also because I was a maniac, I will be looking to get my voice back in the next few days!
Go Hawks!

Hawks over Unity

Congratulations to the JV girls basketball team who traveled to Unity Braxton Middle School yesterday.  The girls started out fast, and never looked back.   Leading the way in the scoring column were Bella Cuffee, Audrey Messick  and Addie Hiltner.  Also scoring were Rowyn Hauter, Robyn Francis, Riley Backmon and Marlee Ratcliff.  Defensively, Rowyn Hauter led the team in steals, while Robyn Francis and Bella Cuffee led in rebounds.  All 12 girls played significant minutes and all contributed to this team win.   We are looking forward to starting  a 4-game home stand next Monday here at the Hawk's nest as we take on the Bull Run Eagles in the Battle of the Birds!

Hawks Over Eagles

After a very nervy and sluggish start, the JV girls basketball team rose up and took down the Bull Run Eagles.   Leading the way, and stuffing the stat sheet was Riley Backmon - 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 blocks - and a very impressive 6 out 8 from the free throw line, all in the 2nd half!    Also scoring were Bella Cuffee, Robyn Francis and Audrey Messick.   The Hawks continue their home stretch with a game here tomorrow against Reagan.
