COVID-19

Parents please screen your child for any COVID-related symptoms and/or fever prior to sending students to school. If the student is exhibiting symptoms please keep your child home. If the student is COVID-19 positive, the student must quarantine for 5 days and return on the 6th day.  A mask is required for the 6-10th day.  However, a student can take a covid test on or after day 6.  If the test is negative, they do not need to wear a mask.  No exceptions can be made to this rule. Our goal is to stay open and to keep all students and staff members safe and healthy.

Reliable sources of information for COVID-19

According to the Center for Disease Control you can help stop the spread of disease by doing the following:

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
  • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
  • If you are sick with flu-like illness, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.)
  • While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
  • See Everyday Preventive Actions (PDF) and Nonpharmaceutical Interventions (NPIs) for more information about actions, apart from getting vaccinated and taking medicine, that people and communities can take to help slow the spread of illnesses like influenza (flu).
