Hey everyone!  Have another weekly lesson for you all located in the Work from Home folder for the week of June 1st. Please check it out and make sure to email me if and when you do it.

As for our challenges last week, Nathan Forst is the only person that was able to complete the Caddy Stack Challenge.  So that brutal challenge has finally been completed.  But as for the Bottle Flip Chaos, that was the most feedback I have gotten so far so thank you to everyone who gave it a shot.  The final leader board is below.  Congrats to Jaxson Karls who completed an insane 16 bottle flips and to Ms. Schumacher for being the only teacher able to make the top 5.  Awesome job!

Hope everyone is still hanging in there and making the most of everything.  Miss you all!

Caddy Stack - Golf Ball Challenge  Bottle Flip Chaos
Nathan Forst  Jaxson Karls - 16
   Nathan Forst - 15
   Edward Ipanaque Giron - 12
   Ming Zhang - 10

 Ms. Schumacher - 8

Over to the left, there is a folder titled "Work from Home."  That is where you will find all of our work for the remainder of the school year.  STARTING THIS MONDAY, APRIL 20TH, WE WILL START HAVING WEEKLY ASSIGNMENTS THAT WILL CONSIST OF PREVIOUS HEALTH CONCEPTS AND DIFFERENT PHYSICAL ACTIVITIESTHESE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE POSTED EVERY MONDAY MORNING.  If you want to keep tracking your home workouts, please feel free to continue tracking them using the fitness log.  I have received a couple of emails which have been awesome so keep it up!

I will be posting videos of all the dances that I teach during our 8th grade units starting next week, this is the actual choreography to the dances you would see in the music videos.  The plan is for these is to just be something fun for families to do during this weird time.  The staff will be challenged to do these as well and the goal would be once you feel like you have mastered the dances, to post them online or send them to me via email and I can start a page here for us all to enjoy and get a good laugh cause that is important during this time.  The schedule will be as follows.

Monday - Beat It - rb.gy/3bipzt
TBD - Bye Bye Bye
TBD - Uptown Funk
TBD - Finesse Remix
TBD - Thriller

The dances start out easy and get more difficult with each one, in my opinion.  Thriller is definitely not a 10-15 minute thing like the others may end up being.  But I hope you all enjoy!

Also on the left hand side, there is a Calendar tab.  If you click on that and look at the week of March 2-March 7, you can see the standards I have covered at each grade level up to our last physical day in school and they are separated by Health and Physical Education.

As always, feel free to email me as I will be monitoring my emails during the day during our normal school hours.  Hope you all are staying safe during this time.  Talk to you all soon!

Hey everyone, I am Dusty Goode and I will be going into my sixth year here at Gainesville Middle.  I graduated in 2014 from George Mason University with a Bachelor's in Health and Physical Education.  This year at Gainesville, I will be the head coach for Girls Track, JV Boys Basketball and Boys Track.  When I am not working I love to play basketball, softball, golf, bowling, and tennis.  I am also a die hard sports fan.  I love the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Wizards, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Michigan State Spartans.  I was a teenager myself at one point and hopped on the Buccaneer and Spartan bangwagons.  One has worked out, the other...well not so much...but anyways,  I look forward to another fantastic year and to working with all of my students.  GO HAWKS!!!

Welcome to Health and Physical Education!!!
