Mrs. Sherlee Glomb is excited to be part of the Gainesville MS family! This will be her 18th year teaching music having taught at the elementary and secondary levels in Fairfax County, Orange County in Winter Park, Florida, and Loudoun County. She received her Bachelors of Music degree from James Madison University in Piano Performance, Masters in Music Education degree from Florida State University, and a Post Masters degree in Administration from George Washington University.
Mrs. Glomb’s groups have performed at invitational performances including the White House, Lee-Fendall House, and under the direction of J. Reilly Lewis (Washington Bach Consort) and Gretchen Khurmann (The Choralis with The Canadian Brass). In addition, Mrs. Glomb’s ensembles have been invited twice to perform at the Virginia Music Educator’s Association Conference in Norfolk, Virginia.
Mrs. Glomb was honored to be recently nominated "Teacher of the Year" in Loudoun County and served as teacher mentor. She has presented "Sight-Singing: The Gateway to Choral Repertoire" at Florida Music Educators Association Conference in Tampa, Florida and the Eastern Division American Choral Directors Association in Philadelphia, PA. The December 2003 MENC magazine published her article, “Leading By Example.” Mrs. Glomb has held District XI Chairperson for Choral Directors in the Fairfax County Public Schools and has been recognized as an “Emerging Leader” of the Virginia Choral Directors Association.
Mrs. Glomb is also an accomplished pianist, choreographer, and musical theatre director. She is a member of NAfME, VMEA, ACDA and SAI. She resides in Bristow, Virginia with her husband Scott and three sons Lucas, Carter, Nicholas, and her dachshund, Dusty. She is absolutely THRILLED to be working the students at Gainesville Middle School.
