How do I login to…                            

  • GVMS Webpage/School Messenger:  (only use username (your Office 365 email address, do not include the part) and password (the one use use to log into the school computer and Office 365) for login to SLMS, this is where you see your class information)
  • Office 365 login: full email address and password for login)
  • ParentPortal: (username: is student ID number / password: student 8 digit birth-date, unless changed by student)

Xochilt Melendez
Choral Director

This will be Xochilt Melendez 2nd year here at Gainesville Middle School and she couldn't be any happier! Xochilt Melendez is a 2018 graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory, earning a Bachelors of Music Education along with a Vocal Performance Certificate. Within her Four-years of studying at the Conservatory she has gained meticulous attention to detail, musicianship and great methods of teaching. Ms. Melendez was very involved with the Music Education and the Vocal Performance program while attending Shenandoah. Ms. Melendez is also a very active performer in the D.C./NOVA area. She has been a guest soloist for numerous of groups such as Washington City Choir and Washington National Cathedral Chorus. Ms. Melendez has also debuted internationally in Salzburg, Austria while also being apart of intensive Opera master classes from the famous Mozarteum Conservatory.  

Miss Melendez is very interested with "El Sistema" and has been apart of a non-profit International Youth program. She has assisted this "El Sistema" based program as an assistant choral director since the summer of 2015. Within this program she has worked along side with Gabriella Bohnett, Simon Gollo, Michelle Fowlin and many more national and International Music Educators from around the world. 

Ms. Melendez is very excited for her future here at Gainesville Middle School and is ready to inspire and educate her future students with the power of Music.
