Good Afternoon, The classes seem to be all going at different paces so different classes have different Quick checks complete.  1st and 5th have taken St 1 Measurement and St 3 Experiments. They will take the quick check on variables tomorrow.  2nd  has only taken the St 1 Measurement Quick Check (QC) but will be taking the St. 3 Experiment one tomorrow and St. 4 Variables on Thursday. 6th Period has taken QC’s for St 1, 3, and 4 and will be taking St. 2 tomorrow.  The scores will be posted shortly. Tests are just around the corner as well.  6th period has theirs on Friday and the rest of the classes will take place on Wednesday of next week.  I have completed the reteach forms that have the corresponding workbook pages at the top.  They may also be found in a separate file for reteaches in my files and documents section.  Tomorrow I will post Quizziz and Quizlets for students to study with as well.  Please contact me if you have any questions.   Mrs. Armstrong St 1 Measurement Reteach.docx  St 2 Tables and Graphs Reteach.docx St 3 Experiment Reteach.docx St 3 Experiment Reteach.docx

Back to school night is tomorrow.  Students should be giving their parents/guardians their schedules with the location and times. Please check parent portal.  Students and parents/guardians, the grades that are posted will not be calculated in the final grade but show how the learning that is occurring. Almost everyone has made progress. The students were given the percentages which gives a clearer picture.  This week we took the Standard 1 Measuring quick check.  In most of the classes we have gone over the quick check and the pretest for that standard.  In second period we will do that tomorrow.  Many of the students did not put the units down for their measurements and therefore the question is wrong.  This is an easier fix.  If your student did not perform well on the Quick Check I will provide a reteach and ask that they come in at lunch for additional assistance.  We are now working on the scientific method.  On Friday the intention is to take the Standard 3 Experiment Quick Check.  By next Friday we will be taking the test in periods 1, 5, and 6.  Second period should be taking their test the following week.  I will post if this is adjusted.  Later this week and into the beginning of next week we will work on variables.  The rest of next week we will be working on graphing.

This is a great place to find out what is going on in the course.  I will give a short blurb on what we did and what our intentions are for the following week. The students have completed their first week by taking a pretest for the first unit.  They have also discussed safety and gotten a chance to know a little about their classmates, classroom and course.  Next week we will focus on measuring and the basics of the scientific method. Please email me at armstrem@pwcs.edu if you need further clarification.  Have a wonderful holiday.
