Although PWCS is unable to provide instruction or class assignments to students while schools remain closed, our School Division hopes that the suggestions for optional learning activities posted here will help parents support student learning until schools re-open. Please remember that use of these materials and participation in these activities are optional and neither grades nor course credit will be awarded.

Hey, everybody! If you've used Adobe Spark to create a project, it's not always as simple as sending a link. When you go to turn in your Adobe Spark project, PLEASE DO NOT SEND A LINK.  They rarely work, and we end up having to resend it a different way anyway.  Please download the project and submit the file by going into the assignment and clicking "Add Work."  Here is a video about how to download your project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnS1rfNLKro

Hello !  I have posted work, reading and videos on my work at home page.  You have worked on all of these subjects before and it is all review.  I would like to see some of your work - and you can email me at seymoutx@pwcs.edu or upload it to this blog.  Please let me know if you have questions about the work as well - I am here to help you each day.  Here's how this will work: Writing - please pick on character, setting and event and write a 5-6 sentence paragraph - remember your CUPS Math  - there is a make change worksheet and grab  a family member or two and play Jeopardy.  Get on mathfactcafe.com and practice your multiples of 2, 4, 6. Reading - there are 3 short comprehension checks.  Also you each have books assigned to you in RAZKIDS - please pick one to listen, read and then answer questions.  Science - this will be for 2 weeks - Natural Resources. There is also a book assigned in RAZ KIDS .  Please review vocabulary and work on cloze sentences.  Socail Studies - 2 weeks Native Americans  Again, this is all new to us.  I will continue to add things so please check each day for any updates.  Make sure you are reading each day and when it is nice - get outside. Stay healthy and safe, Mrs. Seymour

I have attached is a link to a video for using teams.  It is just the minimal basics. You may want to look up youtube videos or other resources for more complex applications but this will get you started. https://youtu.be/BTa2k7oN8yY

I hope everyone is doing well and had a good weekend. We will be continuig with review activities this week, however we will be moving into using teams as we prepare for the next stages of education laid out by our superintendant.  Many of you have been able to open teams and leave a message in the general channel and I am very proud of you.  To get to teams, you open your 365 account and look for the Science team. I used a plant cell as your icon to make it easier to identify. Once you are in our team, you can first go to the general channel and answer the questions or respond to the question.  Then go to the St 16-18 Classification Standard.  There is a link on that channel for doing a nearpod.  This is an interactive type lesson that I will be offering later in the year.  Take this opportunity not only to review but to become familiar with the program. I may add one more activitiy before the end of the week  I will also be including edpuzzles and more. The goal is to get you comfortable with many different ways of learning as we prepare for eighth grade.  They use many of these platforms. If and when you have questions, please ask. YOu may then go to the Passions Project channel.  There is a padlet to try as well as a flip grid when you get there. Do not forget their is the nature scavenger hunt on my web page as well.  If you check out the pictures page of the web page you can see some of the creatures your fellow classmates found.  If you take a picture of one of your finds and email it to me I will add it to the collection. Take care of yourselves and your family and have a great week.

Hi everyone! I hope you are staying healthy and reading everyday.  Remember, you can read to your family, read to a pet or read to a stuffed animal if you want to read aloud.  My dog Ranger loves to hear me read when we sit on the deck each morning.  I have been adding things to the Work at Home folder, and you should take a look.  I also added a Storyline Online link to my page and will post a new story every Wednesday.  When you can, click on this blog and write to me.  I'd love to know all the interesting things you have been up to. Miss you, Mrs Seymour

Good morning, everybody! I just wanted to touch base and let you know that I've graded everything I've received.  Several of you (most of you) still have not turned in your Project #2.  Don't forget you guys still need to turn that in!  I only have a couple of submissions.  They're now past due, and students who have not yet turned it in have an NHI.  That doesn't mean you can't still turn it in!  I'm happy to take late submissions and grade them as they come in.  You have until 4/14.  Please turn your projects into this folder here. Make sure that, unless it's a website, you're not using a link but the actual FILE I need to view your project.  Thanks!   Also, another reminder that the final thing you need to complete, that is mandatory, for my class is your next Project Exploration.  Again, it's not due until 4/14 but it may be a good idea to at least work on it a bit at a time.     I hope that everybody is finding the positives in being home, and that you are taking this time to be with your families and take social distancing seriously.  Hopefully this rain will let up soon so we can get outside! Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Miss you guys already! Mrs. Kraus   PS--if any of you are having difficulty with internet connection, please shoot me an email and we can work out an alternative option for you to get that final grade.  I'm flexible! PPS--I have sent this out as an email and also added it as an announcement on my Teams page.
